Weekend Update

We had a great weekend. I love weekends like this. On Friday we went to Uptown Playaround for a members party. Fun but crazy! Way too many people. The kids had a blast but they even seem to like it when there are not as many people there. Oh well, still a nice evening out and James finally got to see this place that I've been talking about.

On Saturday we decided to take the boys to Home Depot so they could do the craft. Apparently they do this on the first Saturday of the month. We had a blast. There were a lot of people there but we eventually managed to get to the table, get our packages and get to work. Each of the kids got a package that contained the parts for a wooden Home Depot race car. There was hammering involved so basically the boys watched while James and I assembled their cars. Still, it was a ton of fun. They loved their new orange cars. They got cute little Home Depot aprons and everything. Precious! We stopped so the boys could see the fans on the way out. It was amazing how much time we could spend in Home Depot without actually buying anything.

Stellan peeled off some of the stickers on his car on the one mile drive home. Oh well. Jameson peeled off all of the sticker during his nap. They still love their rather plain orange cars though.

Saturday evening we had "Olivator" and "Mayaya" over for dinner and a game. I love how Stellan says their names. Girls beat the guys in round one of Pictionary. (Beat, whooped, kicked butt, smoked, .....pick a word.) James wanted to play round 2 but switch up the teams. I would rather have played Sequence but agreed. Olivator and I were one team and James and Mayaya were another team. They beat us. It was close but they beat us. I blame Olivator. hehe

Sunday was church. After lunch I headed back to Paul and Amy's with the boys. Shaun and Mariana Kapusinski were in town so we got together for the afternoon and for dinner. James joined us after the business meeting at church. We had such a nice time. It was so relaxing to just sit with friends, have some food and drinks. So great! Amy made a yummy meal too! Will have to try and duplicate her chicken. Sounded easy enough, we'll see.

Shaun and Mariana headed back with us. We moved the boys to the back of the van so they would hopefully fall asleep and then the adults could talk. Thankfully they did fall asleep (neither of them had a nap) so we could turn off Thomas and actually hear each other talk. Got home, put the boys to bed and sat chatting and looking at old pictures until after midnight. We had such a great time. I haven't spent time talking with Mariana like that in years. I don't think Shaun and I have ever had a conversation; very overdo. They're such an awesome couple and we can't wait to spend more time with them. They headed out to New York the next morning, a wonderful babymoon before their baby girl is born in May.

What a great weekend!
