Monday

Even though the boys lacked sleep yesterday, Stellan was still awake at 6:15. I really think his internal alarm clock needs some adjusting. :)

We all got ready and then I took Shaun and Mariana to the train station. The boys were rather thrilled about this. I took them via the scenic route through Princeton. Now they know why we love it here so much. Even though it's still winter and there are no leaves or any pretty things, Princeton is still beautiful. Go figure.

As we were driving to the train station Jameson proclaims, "I need to poo". Oh crap. I convinced him that he could wait until we got to the train station, "It's only two minutes away, I promise". Yeah, two minutes without stoplights and crazy New Jersey traffic and roundabout crazy intersections. Regardless, we got their without any problems. Our timing was great, we were stopped by the dinky Princeton - Princeton Junction train. The boys loved the flashing lights and signals. We quickly parked, Shaun got tickets, and up to the platform we went. The urge to poo quickly subsided as soon as we got to the parking lot and he knew he would see trains. The boys remembered that they needed to stay behind the yellow line and were good about obeying. We said our goodbyes to Shaun and Mariana. The boys were so excited to see the trains; I thought Jameson might pee his pants with excitement of it all. I made sure they didn't become stowaways and jump on board with "Shaun and his friend". They waved goodbye and then we went to the washroom to take care of business. I tried to ignore the dirty stall and just get Jameson to do what he had to do as quickly as he could do it. I had to laugh when he said, "Look there's poo on the floor". Thankfully it was only a bit of dirt. We washed up and then headed back out to the platform. I promised them one more train and then we had to head back to the van so I wouldn't get a ticket. They were so good and so obedient. It was impressive. They crouched down next to the yellow line and waited for the next train. It ended up being a fast train that didn't stop. Wow were they excited. We headed back to the van without complaint. It was such a great morning. As we were loading in to the van, Jameson was waving to the guy sitting in the van next to ours. Once I buckled them in he continued to wave and say, "Hi clown". I am so glad the doors were shut and the man could not hear him. The man had fuzzy grey hair and was wearing a colourful toque. He didn't really look like a clown but I could see how a 3 year old might think that. Too funny. We sat for a while longer so the boys could still watch the trains and I could read my book. They were so good! I was so proud.

Since it was in the mid 50's I decided to head to the lake park (Mercer County Park). We were already half way there so I thought it was a great idea. We weren't exactly wearing park clothes but it was fine. I just didn't let the boys play in any dirt/mud. They had a great time swinging, running, sliding, etc. We walked to the gazebo, down the dock and to the Grandparents Pavilion. The boys enjoyed watching the Canada geese swim as we stood on the dock. Jameson started waving at the two that were closest and then said to them, "Go back to over there with your friends". So cute!
We were walking along the patio when Jameson bent over and touched the stones. "Oh, they're warm." I asked if he knew why they were warm. I was hoping he would say that the sun warmed them but instead he said, "Because God gave us this beautiful day!". Oh how he can melt my heart! They walked along the stone border and then ran down the hill. We were walking back to the park area when Jameson suddenly laid down in the middle of the little bridge. "It's time for a rest mommy". Stellan joined him and said, "I need to rest too". So cute! After the fourth time it wasn't as cute but I wasn't in a hurry so I didn't mind if they dallied a bit. I pushed them for a bit in the swing and noticed that they were both falling asleep. We went back to the van, I put on a video and we headed home. Even though the video was playing, Stellan still managed to fall asleep. Jameson was also quite drowsy but didn't actually fall asleep. When we got home I put them both in bed and decided to give them lunch once they woke up. Sleep was more important than food.

I had such a wonderful time with the boys so far today. It was a beautiful day with a lot of sun but cool breezes. The boys finally got some outdoor exercies and tons of fresh air. This makes me yearn for Spring even more!
