The boys love playing in the basement with James after dinner. They usually like for James to hide under a blanket and then they'll run the full length of the basement and jump on him. It's pretty funny and it usually doesn't hurt. Stellan's funny because he runs, stops and then jumps. He's so lightweight that it doens't hurt unless he lands on your face. Jameson jumps from a full speed run so it can be a bit painful. Regardless, they have a ton of fun and they wear themselves out quite nicely.
Tonight James decided to change the game and he had the boys run, jump over him and then land on the mattress. They were having a great time until Jameson cleared the mattress and landed on his face. Carpet burn never feels good. Poor little guy.

Play Date
We went to Kai and Belinda's house today so the boys could play with Aksel. Kai is James' co-worker who is here from Norway. They are a great couple and their children, Aksel (4) and Sofia (4 and a half months), are sweethearts. Jameson was quite excited to play with Aksel since he hasn't seen him since Thanksgiving. Aksel immediately introduced the boys to his toys. After playing with the Legos for some time, they decided to move on to the trains. What a train set he has!!! I've never seen more track before. We (uh, I mean the kids....) were able to construct some pretty complex tracks. Even though the track was gigantic, the boys still found a way to fight over it. Sheesh. Aksel wanted the trains to run into each other but Jameson really wanted no part of it. Some crying followed and then Jameson decided that, since he wasn't getting his way completely, that he would just destroy the track. Grrrr...not impressed! Thankfully Kai and Belinda understand what it is like to have a three and a half year old so it didn't phase them. Darling Stellan was playing by himself on his own little track. Forget the big fancy ones, he's content just to have one round track with a dozen cars on it. One end of the train almost touches the other but he's still having fun.
We got home after 2:00 so it was too late to put the boys to bed. We knew we were in for a rough evening. Needless to say, the boys were in bed and sleeping by 7:30.

Skipper Club
Well, Monday's lack of crying was short lived. Stellan cried at Skipper club. He was quite a trooper and really tried to hold it back but the tears started flowing as I was gearing up to leave the room. Granted, I know he stopped before I even got down the hall to drop Jameson off at his room. Maybe next week.....
Craft Time
Jeremy and Trina came over the other day and we decided to do some Valentine crafts. Simple enough, make cute little homemade Valentine's for the boys' friends. Everything was going just fine, the boys were drawing with markers and putting stickers on their Valentine's. As Jameson was examining the hand and foot stickers he asked, "Where are the penis stickers?". Where does this obsession come from? Argghhh!!! What are we going to do when he is a teenager?

No Crying
A milestone, a break through, a date to remember. Stellan didn't cry when I dropped him off at MOPS today. That is the first time since we started going to MOPS back in September. I was so proud!!! He was quite proud of himself too. I'm interested to see if he cries at Skipper Club on Wednesday. Let's keep our fingers crossed.
Is it genetic, linked to the Y chromosome?
Jameson and I were chatting when I asked him who made the world. He simply replied, "God". Then he said, "God made me". I then said, "God made food". I thought we would go back and forth a bit, listing things God made. Jameson's next comment stopped the game. "God made vaginas." Where does he come up with these things? What could follow that? He's such a male!

Book Club
So I attended my first official book club meeting with my new book club. The book for this month was "A Thousand Splendid Suns". (I highly highly recommend it to everyone.) Even though the ladies and I are at totally different places in life (I'm looking into preschools, some of them are looking into colleges) I still had a great time. The food was delicious and we had great conversation. I love meeting new people and books are a great common bond! Next month I'm hosting and the book is "Water for Elephants". (I highly highly recommend that one too!) Any suggestions for circus themed dinners are greatly welcomed! :)
Heart Melting
For some strange reason the boys didn't sleep in the van on the way home from church today. Not a really big problem but just a bit unusual, especially for Stellan. We knew they'd be grumpy but we had plans for them to go to bed early. When we got in the house Jameson looked at me and said, "Is it time to go for a nap now?". I explained that it was too late and they just wouldn't be having a nap today. "Can we at least have some cuddle time mommy?" I've trained them so well. :)
Nose Picker
We have a perpetual nose picker, his name is Jameson. I'm sure that is why he got sick last week. He probably touched a germ infested book at the library and immediately picked his nose thereby providing a perfect pathway into his body for the aforementioned germs. We really try to get him to stop but he always finds a way to get his finger into one nostril or the other. A few nights ago James told him to stop picking his nose or it would get big. "Oh, like yours daddy?" From the mouth of babes.....
