Healthy Again
I'm pleased to announce that Jameson is once again healthy. :) Thank God! We endured two days of diarrhea and another bout of vomit but we made it through. He's such a trooper though, you would never know he was sick, he was just as active as ever. He kept running with his brother and jumping all over the place. Then he'd run to me and say, "I need to poo!". With a great sense of urgency we would run to the washroom while trying to pull down his pants and underwear at the same time. Thankfully we made it everytime. :)

Oops
So apparently it's "jeans" instead of "genes". Oh well, simple typo. I could fix it but I thought I'd give everyone a good laugh. Let me justify, it was late and there were things crawling in my ceiling.

OMG!!!!
I was sitting here on the sofa typing my blog and watching HGTV when all of a sudden I started hearing scurrying noises above my head. The rational part of my brain tried to explain it away as James checking up on Jameson (who had been complaining about back pain) but then I couldn't ignore them any more. I went upstairs and woke James up (at that point it was obvious he wasn't the culprit). He was a bit groggy but mentioned that he had heard them before as well. I am now convinced that I have some sort of rodent in my house, between the upstairs and the downstairs. I'm freaking out!!! It's late so I guess I'll have to wait until tomorrow to call the landlady. I have visions of a squirrel jumping on my face while I'm sleeping. Or I'll find Stellan sitting in his bed petting it tomorrow thinking it's a new stuffed animal. (OK, I realize that's the irrational part of my brain....)
Time to go to bed and try to sleep.......

Dinner
I made spaghetti for dinner, one of our favourite meals. When Jameson heard what we were having he said, "I don't feel good. I don't want to eat". Little stinker. The problem is that he forgets that he likes it so he puts up a struggle. Once he starts eating it he realizes that he actually likes it and sometimes ends up asking for more. I asked him to please eat at least one bite (I thought this would help to trigger his memory). He ate one tiny piece of pasta that barely had any sauce on it. OK, fine. He mentioned that his back was hurting and then asked to eat some fruit. I gave him a small piece of apple and the gave him some mandarins. He was eating a few and then gagged. I didn't think much of it until he started gagging some more and then ended up throwing up....all over me. Then all over the stools and the floor. And then into my hands because it was the quickest thing I could put under his mouth. It was so disgusting. Beyond disgusting!! My socks and genes were soaked. My sweater was splattered. I stunk! Jameson was crying. James was gagging. Stellan was confused. I hauled the kids upstairs into the tub. After some discussion we agreed that James got to clean up since I was the one drenched in vomit. So gross!
I got the kids cleaned up nicely and James did an amazing job on the clean up. Honestly, he is so thorough (due to his anal tendencies) it's amazing. Way to go sweetie!
I guess I'll listen the next time Jameson says he's not feeling well.

Please Touch Museum
James had a day off today (thank you Martin Luther King Jr.) so we decided to head over to Philadelphia to the Please Touch Museum. First off, Philly is such a beautiful city. I've only been there once before but that was totally accidental so it doesn't really count. What a difference it makes when you go there on purpose.
I had looked up the information about the museum on line and we thought we were quite prepared for our day out. Once we got to the museum district (I've never seen so many museums in one place before) we realized that I overlooked one crucial piece of information, I didn't look into parking. I assumed there would be parking lots, just like the other museums we've been to since we moved here. Boy was I wrong. There is mostly on street parking. And since this was a holiday there seemed to be a lot of people in the museum district (apparently visiting the museums) and it appeared as if all the parking spots were taken. I was good to go for directions from our house to the museum and back home again (thanks to mapquest). Driving around Philly just wasn't part of those directions and weren't on the map. We made our way around and eventually found a parking spot. It was quite pricey but at least it was safe.
We walked several blocks to the museum in the freezing cold, windy weather. Once inside I realized that my expectations were met, there were a ton of people! I expected that parents would be taking their kids there since they would be home for the day. It was a bit overwhelming but we didn't run into any problems since the kids could touch everything and had a ton of things to play with. There was a mini supermarket that allowed you to pick out your groceries and then check them out. I thought it was so cute but the boys weren't really into it. Granted, there were a ton of kids in that area. There was a mini farm complete with a scarecrow and cabbage patch. I thought Stellan would love the area because of the tractor that he could sit on. He ended up being scared of it but at the same time was disappointed because it wouldn't "go". I find that we often have to explain that not every tractor/train/airplane "goes"; especially the ones in books. Silly boy.
Jameson and I were in the area stocked with puzzles and story books. I thought it would be some good down time. He spotted a train puzzle and sat down to put it together. I noticed he left some pieces on the shelf so I picked them up. Imagine my horror when one of the pieces was slimey, literally. I looked and there was a glob of a phlegm-like substance pooled on the shelf where he got the puzzle. I about made my own pool on the floor. My gag reflex kicked in and I grabbed the puzzle away from him telling him it was boring, there were better puzzles elsewhere. I was so disgusted!! I did my best to keep Stellan out of that area.
All in all we had a great time at the museum, the boys really seemed to enjoy themselves. It offered a lot of different things from the Garden State Discovery Museum which was a nice change for them.
We got home and the boys each had a nice little nap. What a great day.

Memory
I recently starting playing the Memory game with the boys. I don't think Stellan is overly interested in playing but he likes to do whatever Jameson is doing. He typically doesn't last until the end of the game. They are both so cute when they get a match, they cheer and give each other high fives. The problem is that Jameson is better than me. How is that possible? At least he's enjoying himself.
