Story Time

We headed out the library this morning for story time with Mr. Matt. The boys were quite excited and I was glad to be getting out of the house. We got there nice and early so the boys could sit on the letter mats of their choice. There wasn't a "J" mat so Jameson had to settle for a "P" mat. No big deal. The room quickly filled with kids between the ages of 2 and 5. Pandemonium waiting to happen! He's good and kept things under control.
Mr. Matt is great and does a wonderful job entertaining the kids. He started out by saying he would be reading books about "safety" today. I was sitting off to the side a bit and I heard, "Satan". Whew, glad I was the one that was wrong. What kind of library is this?!?!
Shortly after the stories began a young boy and his mom came in a bit late. They sat directly behind Jameson. Not long after that the boy started coughing....and coughing and coughing. You get the picture. It was a gross phlegmy cough. Yuck. Anyway, the grossest part was that he didn't cover his mouth. His mother was still sitting with him and she didn't tell him to cover his mouth!!!! Gross! His plegmy cough germs ended up in Jameson's air space. I'm so grossed out! I'll be waiting for him to get sick now. :( How is this kid supposed to learn manners if his mother doesn't teach him. So unacceptable! (I know I'm not perfect and neither are my kids but if they are coughing and I'm sitting there with them, I definitely encourage them to cover their mouths. It's pretty simple really.)
So, would it be rude for me to carry a can of Lysol spray and give a few spritzes next time that happens?

I suggest that you carry around the paper face masks...next time a kid coughs without covering his/her mouth, pass one to the parent and say they can put it on their kid to keep the germs to in!!! (you're just promoting safe Infection Control practices)
