I realize that some people have had their fair share of snow this winter but today's snowfall was a big deal around here. We haven't had this type of wonderful snow all winter. It started out light and fluffy. I would say a good 2 to 3 inches fell during the night. Then the temperature increased and started hovering right around the freezing mark. This made the snow nice and wet, perfect for packing. We made perfect snowballs and snowmen (I refuse to be PC, they're snowMEN). I even showed the boys how to eat snow, reminding them never to eat yellow snow. Stellan took a while to get used to it. At first he thought it was slippery and he was afraid to walk. I eventually told him it wasn't and held his hand. He finally got that it wasn't much different and managed just fine.
I tried to get Jameson to make a snow angel (after this morning I felt a snow devil would be more appropriate....) but he didn't really get the idea of it. So I threw myself down in the snow and made an angel of myself; I figure an angel was quite appropriate for me :).
We went inside quite wet but not too cold. It was truly a beautiful day, mild and no wind with gorgeous, freshly fallen snow.
James took the boys out again once he came home (early, thank God for small favours). He was having a blast with the boys. I was making dinner in the kitchen when Jameson looked at me through the patio door and said, "It needs sugar". He was refering to the huge snowball that he was taking bites out of. Funny kid, such a sweet tooth!
