Company

We had Jonathan Meister, our deaf friend, over for dinner last night and he stayed the night so he could go to a seminar at Princeton University. It was quite funny to see three adults sitting on the sofa, each with a lap top on their laps, typing out a conversation. Hey, whatever works.

I drove him to the university this morning and the boys and I decided to walk around the gorgeous campus for a bit. Jameson was petting the bronze tigers when I noticed their inscription. They were dedicated to the universtiy by the class of '79. So in my mind I was thinking, "OK, that was two years after I was born". Then I looked closer and realized it was the class of 1879. Sheesh. That was a heck of a long time ago.

On the way home the boys were sitting in their seats when Jameson looked at the handle bar on the back of the front seat and said, "Look, Daddy fixed it." I corrected him and said that it was Deda who had fixed it.

Jameson: "Deda's such a nice boy."

Stellan with a little giggle: "Deda's a man." (Imagine drawing out the "a" in man, as if to make a rather obvious point.)

Jameson: "Deda's such a nice man. Nana's a boy."

It made me laugh. :)
